Tree and Lights

Yesterday, we went to cut down our Christmas tree.  We wore our Santa Hats and everyone was complimenting us on how cute we looked.  We took the haywagon ride over to the fields in the mud.

We must have been too late for the good ones.  We were looking for a Douglas Fir because they smell good and don't shed much.  This year, they were all small and sparse, a bit brown in the middle.

So we searched and searched for a different tree in other fields.  We went through Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine, Blue Spruce, Concolor for hours....Finally ending up in Fraser Fir.

We hunted until we found this little guy....Our Christmas Tree for 2011!

Yes, it's a lot smaller than years in the past, but it was just right for us this year.  So, the boys sawed and sawed, taking turns.

We took our little Christmas tree home and brought it inside.  After setting the tree up in the house, we left for another adventure.  Oglebay for Winter of Lights....Christmas Lights!

 Turkey Hunting for Cameron!

It was fun and exciting day as we sang Christmas songs, cut down our tree, had hot chocolate, and traveled to see lights.  Until next week, when we go see more Christmas lights!
