The "Berry" Start of May

Getting ready for summer!  It may be spring still, but it feels like summer the past few days!  Temperatures in the high 80's.  The kids figured out what they are doing this summer.  Haley is joining a summer camp for rowing on a crew team.  Josh is preparing her already, taking her to the gym, putting her on a row machine, and swimming.  She'll be ready come summer!

Cameron has started another round of hockey!  This is at a new place with more instruction and games.  Hockey has started already though.  He played his first game last night!  He is a Ranger and they WON!  6-1!  Great team that he was placed on!  It was great seeing the kids actually going after the ball and running around.  Cameron was used to running for most of the team.  Now, he actually has a place and doesn't have to run for the whole team to try to score.  He loved it!  He was all smiles and waves last night.

Ryan will start golf the first week of June!  He already has the form to play.  We went to the driving range last week and he was hitting balls past the 50 yard mark and straight!  He almost reached 100 yards a few times.  Josh bought him a little golfer's set and Nike visor.  He's so cute!  He wants to golf every day now!

(Please bare with the pictures....They are taken on my iphone.)

Haley has also been busy looking for a dress and accessories for the Spring Formal Dance at her school.  The dance is next weekend!  Busy, busy, busy!  I will post pictures of next weekend when it happens!  So excited for her!

Josh has given his notice at his current work that he will be leaving soon.  He is very excited to be moving onto bigger and happier times!  More home quality in the long run and less hassel.  He will be calming down and spending more time with us.  :) Which makes me so happy!  Love it!  I will keep everyone posted on everything going on with us as we move through this month and the summer!  Until then, I am going to sit back and eat my fresh strawberries!  Here's to the Berry Berry Month of May!

Redoing the Dining Room

You all have heard me saying, "Well, we've been busy."  But really we have been!  Josh (my husband) came home one day and said to pick out everything I wanted for the dining room.  I just got a new dining table and chairs for Christmas, plus the bench.  So, I gave it some deep thought.  I looked through some of my favorite blogs and pinterest.  Finally I came up with something.  Nothing too extravagant for me.  I am a very simple person.  I like function and purpose.  Josh decided to have a chair rail and new base boards.  He wanted to test it out and see if he could actually do it all by himself.  Here's our step by step of the days to redo our dining room so far.  (Not finished because Josh has to go away for work.)
Painting the top half the Olive green/ mud.
Josh torn off the old baseboard.
Happy Josh as he puts up the chair rail.
Still measuring and putting up.
Looking good!
Cameron helping dad out with measuring for the baseboard.
Ryan came in to see what was going on and help.
Ryan came to help me with painting the bottom half white.
Then Cameron needed to help.
The first coat of white paint on the bottom after Josh put up the new baseboard.
The cresent piece of the baseboard is placed.
Here's a look with curtains.

I would show you the entire room, but it's not complete.  Still waiting on my cabinet and computer desk area.  With Josh having a full schedule, the rest will have to wait until the fall.
