The Lake...

After two kids being sick and Josh being away in Chicago, we decided to take a personal day.  For all of us, it was much needed!  So, we packed the van and headed north for Lake Erie.
It was a beautiful trip there and back with all the rich fall leaves.
The kids tested the water with their fingers, then decided it would be okay to take their socks and shoes off and dip their feet in.
We played in the sand and made things with the driftwood and rocks.
We took family pictures to remember this great day.
Haley learned to skip rocks with Josh.
Cameron played with a ladybug that he found in the sand.
We climbed on the sand dunes.  The boys played golf with two sticks and a walnut.

A beautiful sunset to end a perfect day!

Blustery Fall Day

It's like Chicago today, so windy and blustery cold!  Chicago....that's where my husband is headed today for a meeting.  My youngest, Ryan, is home with a fever.  He has been lying around on the sofa all day.  It's so sad when you cannot fix your children when they are sick.  He's been drinking plenty of fluids, and orange juice, even though he doesn't really want to eat anything.  Not even soup.  We are off to pick up his medicine and then Haley from her bus stop since it's cold and windy outside!

A Bat Mitzvah and Pumpkins

On Saturday, we had the privilege of being invited to my daughter's friend Julia's Bat Mitzvah.  Julia and Haley were best friends since 1st grade.  Even though they have grown apart over the last two years, they still remain friends.  It was a beautiful evening that her mother, my friend, had thrown for her.  The theme was Julia's Sweetest Day with candy at every table!  She, also, had a photo booth that my boys could not stop going in!  We took Haley's two friends that were invited, Zoey and Lorin.  The kids danced until it was time to leave.
The girls slept over and the next day we went to Simmons Farm to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins!  What an exciting day!  We got free apples for our hayride to the field, picked our pumpkins, went through corn mazes, got lost in the corn mazes, climbed on tractor tires, picked Indian Corn, and slid down slides!  We even got to ride the hayride 3 times!  It was chilly outside, too!

Then we went to Harry's Pizza where we had even more fun!  I had basil in my teeth.  Zoey made a big piece of basil fly out of her mouth like a feather!  All in all, it was a great fun weekend!
